As of October 2024, the Social Security Administration has made official the 2025 COLA. The new Cost-of-Living  Adjustment will come into effect on December 31 for SSI (Supplemental Security Income) and on January 3, 8, 15, or 22 for SSDI (disability benefits).

As a result of this 2025 COLA, SSDI benefits will increase by 2.5%. This boost is not as high as it was in 2024, 2023, or 2022. Still, it is much better than getting a reduction or a lower figure. In total, 72.5 million Americans will take advantage of this 2.5% jump according to Social Security.
