If you began getting SSDI payments after or in May 1997, you may get your disability benefits in hours. There will be one more requirement you must meet to get this check.
This condition has to do with the day you were born. For example, if your birthday is from the first to the tenth, your disability benefits will be due on February 14.
However, not all SSDI beneficiaries can get a payment on February 14. Do not worry because there will be two more checks in the upcoming weeks in the United States.
DISABILITY BENEFITS AMOUNT ON FEBRUARY 14
The amount of your SSDI payment will depend on your work, earnings, and filing history. Therefore, you could earn up to $3,822 in 2024. That is the maximum benefit amount this year.
Average payments tend to be more accurate than maximum benefits. Since a disability may prevent you from working, benefits are usually reduced. In 2024, the average SSDI check is worth $1,537.
Comparing the maximum amount ($3,822) to the average SSDI payment ($1,537), we can see there is a difference of $2,285. It is definitely a lot less and some disability benefits beneficiaries do not get average amounts, but less money.
SSDI CHECKS ON FEBRUARY 21 & 28
Disability benefits for those whose payments started from May 1997 onward, are also due on February 21 and February 28. So, Wednesday, February 14, will not be the only SSDI payday.
To get disability benefits on February 21, you must also have your birthday on a specific date. In this case, it is from 11-20. However, if your birthday is after the 20th, you need to wait longer.
Those whose birth date is from 21-31 will get their disability benefits on February 28. The average and maximum SSDI amounts are also $1,537 and $3,822 respectively. Apply for SSI if your payment is too low.
