Disability benefits like SDDI and SSI are due in early May 2024. The amount of your benefits will depend on your background. Therefore, there will be low and high payments.
Social Security has scheduled the first disability benefits for May 1. As a matter of fact, it will be the check or direct deposit for Supplemental Security Income recipients in the USA. Interestingly, but not surprisingly, it will not be the only SSI payment in May.
MAY 1 ELIGIBILITY FOR THOSE ON DISABILITY BENEFITS
The SSI payment on May 1 will be for all those recipients who remain eligible. That is, there will not be 4 different payments like for Social Security Disability Insurance. Average checks are worth $699, see below maximum SSI benefits.
It will happen exactly the same as with the May 31 payment. All SSI beneficiaries will get money on May 31. Actually, this will be their payment from June 1 sent in advance. SSA never sends money on the weekend, so it scheduled SSI for the previous business day.
To get SSI recipients must meet one of the 3 following requirements. They must be 65 at least, be blind or have a disability. Both adults and children can receive SSI on May 1 and 31. Apart from that, they must have a low income. If you are married, you can get up to $1,415. Single people can get up to $943.
MAY 3 & SSDI ELIGIBILITY FOR DISABILITY BENEFITS
May 3 will be the day when some SSDI recipients can get their money. This monthly payment will be for those on benefits before May 1997. Moreover, it will also be for you if you are on both SSI and SSDI
Disability benefits are higher for those on SSDI. Social Security confirmed that the maximum benefit for SSDI is worth up to $3,822. If you have not earned the taxable maximum for 35 years and have not filed late, you may get a lower payment.
Average payments are worth $1,537 for those on SSDI disability benefits. Social Security has also confirmed three more paydays for those on SSDI who do not qualify for May 3. They will be due on May 8, 15 and 22.
