All Social Security payments have been set for April. The Administration will send disability benefits on time to all SSDI beneficiaries. Although some SSDI recipients have not collected their March payments, others did so on March 1.
If you collected your Social Security payment on March 1, then, your next disability benefits will be due on March 3. This includes two groups of SSDI recipients in the USA.
Those on disability benefits from SSA before May 1997. But also those on Supplemental Security Income and Social Security at the same time. If you get SSI, your direct deposit or check arrives on April 1.
HOW MUCH MONEY COULD I RECEIVE ON APRIL 3 FOR SSDI?
The maximum amount for disability benefits is $3,822 in 2024. Therefore, this is the largest payment the Administration will send on April 3. However, this is hard to attain.
For your information, if you qualify for the largest SSDI check in 2024, you must have met 3 requirements. In the first place, you must have earned the taxable maximum for thirty-five years.
That implies you have also worked for 35 years in jobs covered by SSA, which is another key feature. What is more, you must have filed late, early filing will not allow you to get such large disability benefits.
REQUIREMENTS TO GET DISABILITY BENEFITS IN APRIL 2024
Unfortunately, there are delays and applications may take longer than expected. So, do not put it off and apply for SSDI as soon as you can. Decisions can be delayed for over 6 months.
The main requirements are:
- having a qualifying disability that meets SSA’s strict definition.
- your disability must last for over 1 year.
- you must have earned enough work credits
- having paid enough payroll taxes
To know if you qualify for SSDI (disability benefits) you can simply download a Social Security Statement. Of course, you will need medical evidence and approval from SSA too.
