The Social Security confirmed the May 31 payment. The Government will send money to eligible recipients of the Supplemental Security Income. Supplemental Security Income is commonly known as SSI.
It can give monthly payments to low-income citizens. However, they must be at least 65, have a qualifying disability, or be blind. Of course, there are citizenship requirements apart from income, resources, and so on.

SOCIAL SECURITY UNVEILS SSI AMOUNTS
Although Social Security said the maximum SSI benefit is worth $943, many recipients get a lot less. In fact, the average SSI payment for all recipients is worth $699.22 as of March 2024.
If you are receiving other benefits like retirement, you could get even less money. SSA said those aged 65 or older get on average $574 from the Supplemental Security Income. Beneficiaries aged 18-64 get $744 on average.
Luckily, those under 18 who receive SSI payments from Social Security get about $821. Which is 122 dollars more than all SSI recipients get on average as of March 2024. Married couples can get SSI payments of up to $1,415. Essential persons up to $472.
SOCIAL SECURITY DOES NOT ALWAYS SEND SSI ON THE 1ST
It is very common to get Supplemental Security Income on the first day of the month. Nevertheless, The Administration may send it on the last days of the previous month.
This happens when the SSI payday falls on a holiday or on the weekend. Social Security will send the June 1 payment for SSI recipients on the previous business day. That is why it will not be due on Saturday, June 1, 2024.
Instead, SSI recipients will get SSI on May 31. Social Security confirms that it will be the second payment during the same month. Do not forget that this is not a bonus or extra money. Save it for June because you will need it to cope with soaring prices and inflation.
