November will bring a new SSI payment for seniors aged 65 who are eligible. Of course, for this Supplemental Security Income payment, you must have filed and got approval. Moreover, you must remain eligible. Any changes in your personal situation must be reported to Social Security because it may increase or reduce your monthly payment.
The Social Security Administration (SSA) has confirmed that the next SSI payment date for 65-year-olds and older will be on November 29, 2024. Therefore, you will only need to wait for about 2 weeks.
Who is eligible for SSI on November 29, 2024?
This will be the only payday for all Supplemental Security Income recipients in the United States. Hence, this will be the day when all beneficiaries get money from the Federal Government.
To be eligible, you must:
- have a qualifying disability, or
- be blind, or
- be at least 65 years old, and
- have little or no resources
- have a low income
- meet residency requirements
Who will receive $576 from SSI?
This is the average payment amount for Supplemental Security Income if you are 65 years old or older. Nevertheless, this does not mean that you are going to receive this amount.
Actually, some seniors can receive up to $943 if they are single. Eligible married couples can receive up to $1,415. Those who are receiving SSI as an essential person will only get up to $472, so they will not get $576.
None of the November 29 payments will include the 2025 COLA increase. The new maximum amounts will take effect on December 31, 2024. This is the new date for your January payment because New Year’s Day is a Federal Holiday.
It is more than likely that if you are also receiving Social Security retirement payments you do not receive $943 but an amount closer to $576. Citizens who still struggle to make ends meet and receive SSI can also apply for SNAP benefits.
