The Administration has just confirmed the latest updates for SSI (Supplemental Security Income) applicants. They announced it as a multi-year effort to make the application process much simpler.
Social Security has confirmed that there will soon be an online and streamlined application for some SSI applicants. However, it is unlikely to have access to this service in September.
When will Social Security offer the online and streamlined SSI application?
Supplemental Security Income applicants will be able to use this new service from December 2024 onward. For those who do not know what the Supplemental Security Income payments are, they are monthly benefits for low-income recipients who have a disability, or are blind, or are at least 65.

They can receive a monthly payment on the first day of each month. Of course, income and resource requirements are essential. Martin O’Malley, Commissioner of Social Security, said that:
