SSDI stands for Social Security Disability Insurance. In total, there will be 4 payments in June 2024. However, if you qualify for this disability benefit, you can only receive one of the checks or direct deposits.
The first group of Americans to get SSDI will be those who began receiving Social Security before May 1997. As a matter of fact, they will not be the only group of eligible beneficiaries, since there is another possibility. The maximum amount will be worth $3,822 and average payments about $1,537.
IF YOU ARE ON SSI AND SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY INSURANCE (SSDI)
Then, the second option to be eligible for the June 3 SSDI payment has to do with SSI. Bear in mind that you can also receive it if you collect Disability Insurance and Supplemental Security Income at the same time.
So, if you are on SSI and S.S.D.I., you get SSI on May 31 and SSDI on June 3. Consequently, you will get the two payments early in the month which will allow you to plan your monthly budget better.
After the SSDI payment on June 3, there will be 3 more checks or direct deposits. Actually, the next 3 payments will be for those who are on benefits after April 30, 1997. Of course, as long as they are not receiving SSI as well.
SSDI CHECKS DUE ON 3 PAYDAYS
The Administration has announced 3 paydays on June 12, 18 and 26. Usually, this round of payments is due on the second, third and fourth Wednesday in June. However, this year not all SSDI payments will arrive on Wednesdays.
This is because June 19th is a Federal holiday. Since SSA cannot send payments on Juneteenth National Independence Day, the payday had to be changed to June 18 instead. Depending on when your birthday is due, you could receive your money earlier or later in the month.
