SSI is the Supplemental Security Income and some Social Security recipients can receive it while on retirement or SSDI. Therefore, some beneficiaries received a check on April 1 and will get another one on April 3. However, they are two different types of payments.
One is funded by the Federal Government while the other gets money from the Social Security fund. SSI usually arrives on the first day of the month. Thus, most eligible beneficiaries must have gotten their direct deposit on April 1. If not, your bank may be experiencing delays in sending payments.
2 SSI PAYMENTS IN MAY
Although Supplemental Security Income generally is due on the first day of the month, there can be some exceptions. This happens when a payment is due on a holiday. Besides, it can also take place when it falls on the weekend, that is on Saturday or Sunday.
As May 1 falls on Wednesday, there will be no changes at all. Nevertheless, June 1, 2024, is Saturday, so there must be changes. That is why the Administration has scheduled the June 1 SSI payment on May 31 instead of the first day in June.
As a result, SSI recipients will get the May and June Supplemental Security Income money in May. It is true that it will only be one day in advance, but it can be of great help if you have a shoestring budget. Hence, there will not be a double or bonus payment, just money in advance.
