If you are on retirement and SSI payments, you got your monthly benefits on June 3. Also, if you filed for benefits and got them before May 1997. The rest of the beneficiaries will collect a new payment on one of the three different dates.
The next group of American retirees to receive money from the Administration will be those who are receiving retirement benefits and whose birthdays are from 1-10.
WHEN WILL RETIREES GET THE NEXT RETIREMENT BENEFIT PAYMENT?
According to the annual payment schedule from the Administration, retirees will receive their monthly check on June 12 if eligible. If your birthday is not from the 1st to the 10th, you could get your payment in six days after June 12 or 2 weeks later.
Therefore, some American retirees will receive their monthly payments on June 18. In fact, the due date will be one day before the usual payday. This is because Wednesday, June 19 is a Federal holiday.
Since the Administration does not send money on the weekends or holidays, it must be sent one day in advance. June 18 will be payday for those whose birthday is from 11-20. June 26 will be when you have your money in your bank account if your birthday is from 21-31.
MAXIMUM RETIREMENT BENEFIT AMOUNTS
As of January 2024, the maximum retirement benefit payment is worth $4,873. This is the largest benefit after the 2024 COLA boost from the Administration, up from $4,555.
This large check is only possible for those who file at 70, earn the taxable maximum for 35 years, and work for 35 years in jobs covered by SSA. Filing early means getting less money though.
For example, if you file at 62 you can receive up to $2,710. Those who file at Full Retirement Age can receive a lot more, up to $3,822. FRA is the age when you receive from the Administration 100% of your benefits, no rewards but no cuts.
